When I saw this week's recipe, I was excited. We bought a Cuisinart ice cream maker a couple of years ago, but haven't really gotten much use out of it so far. I tried a few of the recipes from the book, but nothing that really gave up that "Wooo!" - know what I mean?

I wasn't entirely sure about the blueberry part of it though. I was completely surprised back a few weeks ago when I turned out to love the Double Crusted Blueberry Pie, but I thought that might be a fluke. Turns out, I loved the blueberry part of it and I'm not too sure about the sour cream. The syrup tasted like the pie, and I loved it. The tang from the sour cream seems to almost overpower the berries.

But I'm going to love trying different sour cream recipes and maybe tweaking this blueberry recipe a bit later. A big thanks to Dolores for picking a great recipe, and don't forget to check out the rest of the TWD crew.

well, it looks really good! i haven't had ice cream in a cone in way too long! maybe you could try replacing 1/4 c of the sour cream with milk or something?

The color is really gorgeous! I just keep thinking how good it might be with hot fudge sauce! Great job!

It loks absolutely delicious! I'm sure with your tweaking, you will love it soon enough!

It looks very nice. I think fresh blueberries alongside the ice cream would have been really good.

I thought the sour cream was overpowering too. I did love the color of the ice cream and the blueberries, yours looks delish!

Beautiful color. I liked the tang of the sour cream but my hubs didn't so if you figure out a better substitute, you'll have to let me know!

Yours looks good..I haven't had a cone in so long! I'm not a huge sour cream fan either..I think I'm going to try it with greek yogurt or cottage cheese

I'm so glad the blueberry worked for you. I'm wondering if yogurt might make an appropriate less-tangy substitute for the sour cream?

It sounds like a lot of people didn't care for the sour cream in this recipe. I scaled mine back and it turned out delicious, so you should try it that way. Your pictures are gorgeous though!

Your ice cream looks so beautiful in that cone! I would like to tweak this recipe a bit as well- I thought the sour cream was a tad bit overpowering.

I thought that the syrup tasted just like the pie, too! It looks yummy.

I love the cone picture! When I tweaked the recipe and doubled it, I didn't increase the sour cream as much as the other ingredients. I really like the way it turned out.

i wish i had a cone for my ice cream. but i just ate it straight from the container!

Sorry it didn't turn out quite as good as you hoped, I'd definitely play around with the recipe and get The Perfect Scoop by David Lebovitz if you don't have it. I don't even bother buying ice cream any more.

The fresh blueberries look great with the ice cream.

It seems a lot of people weren't too crazy about so much sour cream. (I kinda liked it.) Yours looks spectacular, esp. with the fresh berries.

This looks beautiful with the fresh berries on the side.

Lovely photo. I thought that it was a bit too tangy. Ah well.
